How to Care for Your Car After a Detail
Your car looks and feels brand new. A few easy steps will keep it that way, and tell you when it is time to book your next visit.
Keeping your interior fresh
Now that your interior is clean and fresh, a few simple steps will help you avoid moisture, mildew and condensation while everything dries.
- Crack your windows. Air out the interior so fresh air can move through the cabin and help prevent condensation.
- Let fabric seats dry fully before you reinstall any child seats.
- Let carpets and mats dry before putting your floor mats and cargo liner back in.
Your leather seats were cleaned and conditioned to prevent cracking and drying, and to keep them comfortable. To maintain them between visits, we recommend a leather conditioner about once a month. Two we like are Bayes Leather Cleaner and Conditioner or ZEP Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. Just follow the instructions on the product.
Protecting that fresh shine
Your exterior is nice and shiny, rain will bead right off, and your paint is protected against harmful UV rays and oxidation. People are going to notice.
To keep it looking its best, we recommend a wash about once a month. Our Mini Detail service is perfect for maintaining that finish and bringing your car back to its best between full details.
Wax is not invincible, it can wear off when it is not maintained. If a bird gets your car, wipe it off right away with a warm, damp, soft towel to avoid scratches. Keep an eye out for tree sap, paint or asphalt too, since those can permanently damage your paint. If any of it lands on your car, wash it off as soon as you can.
When should I book again?
Interior Detail
Twice a year keeps the cabin clean and protected. Light use? Once a year is fine. Pair it with an exterior service for a discounted Full Detail.
Exterior Detail
Every six months protects your clear coat. If you park outside or drive a lot, stick to twice a year. Garage-kept and light use can go yearly.
Wax refresher
Book a Mini Detail with wax within three months of your Exterior Detail. This "refresher" brings your car back to its best and keeps it protected.
